Conducting Phoenix Youth Symphony was one of the best things I have ever done, and a highlight of my musical career. Although I was only with PYS full-time for one season, my connection with the orchestra began in 2008 when I had the chance to sub when Lawrence Golan was away. I immediately felt a strong connection to this group of talented, music-loving people, and it was a dream come true to become their full-time conductor. It was a privilege to follow the highly professional example set by Mr. Golan, and I have been thrilled to see the brilliant way that Keitaro Harada has energized the orchestra and the organization, with a type of creativity and devotion that I greatly admire. Cheers to all for getting connected as alumni and current musicians. See you Wednesday night!
